Who can apply for the RWR+ as a Ukrainian in Austria?

Ukrainian Blue Card holders who have been over 2 years in the country, worked a total of 12 months, are financially self-sufficient, insured, and have basic German skills

Eligibility Critera

You can apply for the RWR+ Card if you:

  • Currently hold a valid Ukrainian displaced person ID (Blue Card/“Ausweis für Vertriebene”)
  • Have a valid passport (if you don’t, check Special Cases)
  • Have worked in Austria with full insurance for at least 12 months within the past 24 months
  • Can demonstrate basic German skills (A1 level) or better
  • Have sufficient income to support yourself and any dependents (children, spouse)
  • Have health insurance and adequate housing in Austria

Family Eligibility

Family members can also apply if the main applicant qualifies. This includes:

  • Spouses and registered partners (if both are over 21)
  • Unmarried children under 18

Note: Even if you don't meet all requirements yet (for example, you haven’t worked 12 full months yet), we strongly recommend you getting started with the process earlier.
