The Red-White-Red Plus Card (RWR+ Card) is a residence permit that helps Ukrainians with temporary protection status (Blue Card) transition to Austria's regular immigration system.
What does the RWR+ Card offer you?
- Work freely anywhere in Austria – as an employee or running your own business
- Change jobs whenever you want without needing new permits
- Stay in Austria long-term, even after temporary protection ends in March 2026
- Build toward permanent residence - your time with the RWR+ Card counts toward the 5-year requirement for applying for permanent residence
How long is it valid?
- One year if your speak German at level A1
- Three years if you've speak German at A2 level and fulfilled Integration Agreement Module 1
- The RWR+ Card can be renewed as long as you continue to meet the requirements
