Fully insured employment means:

Self-Employment (selbständige Erwerbstätigkeit)
Fully insured self-employment means:
- You are officially registered as self-employed in Austria
- Your annual income exceeds the SVS insurance threshold
- 2025: €6,613.22 per year
- 2024: €6,221.28 per year
- You pay contributions to SVS (Social Insurance for Self-Employed)
- You have proper business registration:
- Trade license (Gewerbeschein) for regulated businesses, OR
- Tax number for “new self-employed” (Neue Selbständige)
What Does Not Qualify
- Minor employment (geringfügige Beschäftigung) below the threshold
- Volunteer work
- Unpaid internships
