How much income do I need for myself and my family?
For the RWR+ Card, you need monthly net income of €1,273.99 for a single person, €2,009.85 for couples, plus €196.57 per child (2025 values), after subtracting certain expenses.
Basic Income Requirements (2025)
Your monthly net income after tax must meet these thresholds:
- Single person: €1,273.99
- Married/registered couple: €2,009.85 (combined)
- Additional per child: €196.57
What Counts as Income
- Employment earnings (salary)
- Self-employment income
- Unemployment benefits
- Regular pension payments
- Documented regular transfers from spouse (i.e. alimony payment)
- Savings (divided by 12 for the monthly amount)
- Family benefits (Familienbeihilfe)
What Doesn’t Count as Income
- Grundversorgung (basic welfare support)
- Irregular one-time payments
- Transfers from extended family or friends
- Support from charities
